CHALLENGE

A greenfield battery and precision-stamping plant on a 35-acre Kyle, Texas site introduces high-hazard occupancy — Class II and III combustible liquids and potential Class I flammables — across large-footprint production buildings analyzed as unlimited-area structures.

APPROACH

The perimeter lateral system uses HSS10×10×1/2 X-braced diagonal frames on all four elevations, coordinated with the fire-and-life-safety provisions that H-occupancy and unlimited-area (Type IIB/III) construction require.

VALUE

The bracing and occupancy strategy lets large, flexible production floors coexist with stringent hazardous-materials code demands — the structural backbone for a manufacturer's first US facility.
