CHALLENGE

An interdisciplinary academic building in UH's dense central-campus core needed open, adaptable floor plates for collaboration across engineering, business, and technology.

APPROACH

M designed a concrete moment-frame structure that resists lateral loads through the frames alone — no shear walls — keeping the floor plates open and reconfigurable at every level.

VALUE

Structural flexibility for interdisciplinary research programming at a Tier One institution (project in design development).
